The Cloud: Iacta alea est

Spazzo

clock April 22, 2007 18:20 by author philip

Went to dinner last night at Spazzo in Redmond Town Center. I'd been previously when they were located in Bellevue and had been underwhelmed (but not dissatisfied) Spazzo claims to be a "World Class Italian Restaurant". Let's deconstruct this 'dog' one step at a time:
Atmosphere: Noisy and loud. Staff were running around like confused chickens. It felt like a badly run family restaurant (which is sad indictment as America is overflowing with well known family restaurants).
Drinks: I was sans booze last night but I did peruse the wine list. Hardly "World Class". The local Olive Garden has a better wine list.
Food: Poor value for money. My $20+ veal was simply thrown on the plate with no sense of style. The meat itself was tough and tasteless.
Service: Very spotty. I under tipped and probably should have left nothing.

Verdict: Don't.

Coffee is for Closers

clock April 21, 2007 13:34 by author philip

This was just too funny not to share. I'm wondering if the 'Upwardly Mobile' is patented...

Original
(from Glengarry Glen Ross, a film which should be compulsory viewing for those in the CRM industry)

Warning: Some language is a little colourful. Alec Baldwin swearing just back in fashion....

WallStrip Satirical Version
Sure it's about Salesforce.com - but it could be any of the modern SFA players.

Watercress Asian Bistro

clock April 17, 2007 17:27 by author philip

For Sunday lunch Ellie and I dropped into Watercress Asian Bistro in Redmond. Ellie had been before - while it was my first time. It's one of those highly westernized Chinese food places.... which usually spells disaster. However in case of Watercress they have married the 'look and feel' of a sleek modern bistro with decent Chinese food. The other surprise was price. Pretty much the same, if not cheaper, than the local Chinese place (except that other place is a complete dump).

Definitely worth checking out.

Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

clock April 15, 2007 11:40 by author philip
It looks like I'm heading to the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in July. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with the CRM VARs and ISVs. I'm also hoping to connect with as many non-CRM Microsoft partners and discuss any technical barriers to entering the CRM space.

OPML File Fixed

clock April 10, 2007 23:48 by author philip
My OPML is now fixed. There were some problems related to my hosters proxy which required a small code change at my end. Since I've stopped using bloglines I also decided to simply point to a static OPML until I work out how to publish dynamically from Google Reader's blogroll.

CRM Channel 9 Video

clock April 4, 2007 11:17 by author philip

Ben Riga and Brad Wilson recently sat down with Charles Torre for Channel 9 to talk about Microsoft CRM. You can check out the video here.

Let's see if we can get the View Count up on on this video! It was sitting at < 1000 last time I looked. I think the CRM community can do a little better than that!
